Pearl Jam @ Ahoy Rotterdam, 13-08-2009

Not as mindblowing as Gelredome 2006, but a great show nonetheless. Pearl Jam has got to be the best live-band I have ever seen, and trust me, I’ve seen a hell of a lot. Ahoy has a bad reputation when it comes to sound, but being at the front it didn’t bother us. The crowd on our side (right side of the stage, 4th row, in front of Stone Gossard) was friendly up untill the encores, when some pushy and intoxicated guys started fucking things up. The overall vibe was great, however. Like one big happy family. The show in 2006 was attended by 30.000 people. Ahoy seats ‘only’ 10.000. From the front row, every gig feels intimate, though. And overwhelming when everyone starts singing along, like we’re all just one person. You can listen to/see that happening during Better Man here
